What is Pepperoni?
MP Pepperoni is a super thick geometric display font that’s perfect for making a bold statement. It was designed specifically for graphic designers and content creators looking to elevate their client’s brand presence on promotional materials and packaging design. To stand out from the crowded font marketplace, it has abnormally wide glyphs that contrast with tight negative contours.
Our Task
With a name like Pepperoni, the perfect time to introduce its quirky characters, and cheeky brand personality, was during the product launch. The marketing plan includes fun examples of Pepperoni in action, and openly talks about its source of inspiration: Pizza. Clean mockups provide inspiration for use case scenarios like price points and label design. At every consumer touchpoint, the objective of the marketing launch plan is to pique the interest of designers, and get them excited about our new font. Last, we packaged everything up and built a standalone e-commerce page that compels shoppers to make a purchase for only 5 bucks.

The initial reaction.
Initital results are positive, which is probably due, in part, to the pricing strategy. The font market is saturated, and prices can range from free to $100+. $5 felt right for our first font. It’s low enough to remove any financial barrier, but high enough to signal value. It’s also a great way to test demand without overthinking revenue. Plus, $5 feels honest, approachable, and easy to justify. It’s the price of a slice of pizza.

Sales Page
Buy Me a Coffee is a platform that allows digital creators and entrepreneurs to receive support from fans through small donations. It’s a super simple way to monetize content, share product updates, and build a community without relying on ads. Pepperoni’s sales page includes a short description, a few key visuals with use case scenarios, and a strong CTA. Along with the .otf file that contains all of the characters and punctuation, a friendly “Thank You” note is included in the download. This serves as the “Read First” document for users that don’t know how to install fonts. It also includes the EULA.
Can your brand use a custom font?
In the Creator Economy, an inherent need in the marketplace exists for digital products aimed at content creators, freelance designers, and small business owners. Of course, the final product has to be useful to the intended audience, and the quality needs to be as good or better than that of the competition. Of all the possibilities, fonts remain a cornerstone of digital design.
Our initial research revealed that the trend is shifting towards display fonts with personality. Quirky sans serifs, hand-drawn scripts, and modular typefaces that stand out are selling. Let us know if your brand calls for it's very own custom font.
