Families increasingly research cemeteries online before visiting. Without a modern website or digital presence, Oak Lawn had no way to reach them or showcase its meaningful services. In an industry where first impressions matter deeply, Oak Lawn's digital presence blended into the background with no visual story, and no way to distinguish its magnificent grounds and arboretum.

Our Role as Guides
Map Agency led Oak Lawn Cemetery & Arboretum through every phase of brand development, from uncovering their core values to developing a comprehensive brand style guide. The complete brand system was designed by hand, including the logo and custom illustrations. We set traditional typographic standards and selected welcoming brand colors grounded in earthtones. Map Agency also directed professional photography, designed print collateral, and developed an intereactive website where families could locate their loved ones.

The chosen mark reflects Oak Lawn’s most iconic element: the magnificent White Oak tree. It’s a timeless symbol of strength, endurance, and immortality. The logo and corresponding badge are both as enduring as the landscape they represent.

Set amid magnificent old-growth trees and beautifully kept grounds, Oak Lawn has served families across the region since 1865, guided by values of compassion, respect, and community service. But that tradition wasn’t reflected in any brand communications.

Oak Lawn had a dated logo and color palette, making it difficult to present a professional and consistent image to the families who needed to feel trust and comfort.
